This are the teachings of Sri Krishna to Arjuna set in 700 verses by sage Vyasa in the great epic story, the Mahabharata. It is one of the greatest scriptures in India's spiritual heritage. Thus we can see that Gita is indeed a great name in the history of this planet. The great sage Adi Shankara said that the Gita is a discourse about the very essence of the meaning of the entire Vedas (the ancient scriptures). The aim of the Gita is to realize the highest good, to help the spiritual aspirant to end the seemingly endless cycle of birth and death and the cause of this cycle, which is ignorance of spiritual truths. Gita represents spiritual truth. Further, Swamiji encourages the singing of spiritual songs in all
forms as a very uplifting spiritual practice. In the Ashram and

and devotional songs in Sanskrit, Tamil and other languages both
