THE APPENDICULAR SKELETON

The appendicular skeleton is made up of the bones
of the limbs or "appendages." 
The forelimb is termed the thoracic limb.
The hind limb is termed the pelvic limb.

  • scapula - shoulder blade
  • humerus - long bone of the upper arm
  • radius - one of 2 long bones of the forearm
  • ulna - one of 2 long bones of the forearm
  • carpus - wrist or knee
  • metacarpals

Pelvic limb
  • pelvis
    • ilium
    • ischium
    • pubis
  • femur - long bone of the thigh
  • tibia - one of 2 long bones of the lower leg
  • fibula - one of 2 long bones of the lower leg
  • tarsus
